Oil prices have ticked up slightly over the past couple of weeks, which have pushed gasoline prices higher across the nation, and across the Northwest.  However, that oil price increase has not impacted diesel prices; at least at this point.  And, Patrick DeHaan with GasBuddy.com says he does not expect the national diesel average to increase anytime soon.

“After the harvest is planted, there is a drop off in diesel demand, so it wouldn’t surprise me if we see diesel prices edge lower, though we have to keep in mind  that oil prices have jumped, so that could be some pull on diesel prices because of oil prices.”

According to AAA, the national average for a gallon of diesel held steady this week at $2.50, Washington’s average jumped seven cents this week to $2.87 a gallon, while Oregon’s rate was unchanged to $2.68 a gallon.

Here are some of the lowest diesel prices we could find across the Inland Northwest:

  • $2.64 a gallon in the Tri-Cities
  • $2.75 a gallon in Yakima
  • $2.75 a gallon in Walla Walla
  • $2.64 a gallon in Moses Lake
  • $2.77 a gallon in Quincy
  • $2.73 a gallon in Wenatchee
