Oil Prices Dip to start 2017
Despite oil prices leveling off, diesel prices have ticked higher over the past week. According to AAA, the national average for a gallon of diesel increase three cents this week to $2.53, Washington’s rate increase five cents a gallon to $2.83, while Oregon’s price increase six cents to $2.67 a gallon. Patrick DeHaan with GasBuddy.com, told the Washington Ag Network oil prices are not recording the upward movement we saw just a few weeks ago.
“Prices have cooled off a little bit, after rallying intensively after OPEC’s announcement on November 30th, oil prices the last couple of weeks have held between $52 to $55 per barrel.”
DeHaan added while pressures from the international scene have calmed down in recent weeks, Mother Nature could still impact Northwest diesel prices.
“When you see temperatures this cold in the middle of winter, it defiantly does add up, though there does seem to be some relief in sight, it does have a major role in the price of diesel fuel.”
Here are some of the lowest diesel prices we could find across the region:
- $2.73 a gallon in Pasco
- $2.74 a gallon in Wenatchee
- $2.59 a gallon in Quincy
- $2.65 a gallon in Yakima
- $2.69 a gallon in Moses Lake
- $2.55 a gallon in Pendleton
