Oil Prices Continue to Fall Into Heart of November
Due to oversupply internationally, oil prices have softened over the past week. As of Monday, the price for a barrel had dropped to $42. And while that has not rippled into current prices, diesel prices across the region continue to move lower.
According to AAA the national average for a gallon of diesel decreased one cent this week to $2.40, Washington’s average is down two cents to $2.72 a gallon, Oregon’s price dipped one cents to $2.56.
GasBuddy.com's Patrick DeHaan said oil prices are at their lowest levels in the past six month. And he said it’s because an abundance of oil supply. As far as the American elections on the oil prices, DeHaan told the Washington Ag Network that Donald Trump’s win is making it’s impact known through the strength of the dollars.
“The value of the U.S. dollars has certainly strengthened on perhaps news that Donald Trump may reshape trade policy, and that has the dollar strengthening in value which is putting downward pressure on the price of oil.”
Here are some of the lowest diesel prices we could find across the Inland Northwest:
- $2.59 a gallon in Pasco
- $2.67 a gallon in Moses Lake
- $2.58 a gallon in Yakima
- $2.66 a gallon in Wenatchee
- $2.59 a gallon in Quincy
- $2.67 a gallon in Walla Walla
