The Oregon Department of Agriculture announced they received $1.7 in funding for 14 projects through the specialty crop block grant program with the USDA.

Oregon ranks seventh in the nation in specialty crop production and ODA Director Alexis Taylor said, “Our projects have a history of demonstrating a highly favorable cost-benefit ratio which makes the Specialty Crop Block Grant Program even more valuable to Oregon.”

A total of 36 proposals were presented which resulted in the 14 selected including projects on career awareness, helping berry producers for their surplus production, farm to school, controlling listeria and much more.
