Honey production throughout the Northwest was up in 2016, but the story is less positive in a closer look.

Washington’s production dropped eight percent to 2.94 million pounds and the value of Washington honey dropped four percent to $5.53 million.

In Oregon, production declined four percent compared to 2015 with 2.59 million pounds. The value of Oregon honey dropped 19 percent to $5.34 million.

Idaho made up the difference though with production jumping 16 percent to 3.3 million pounds and the value was up three percent to $5.67 million.
