Oregon Department of Forestry officials have lowered the fire danger in the northeast corner of the state from Extreme to High.  While weather conditions have moderated, fire managers say forest fuels remain critically dry and public use restrictions are still in place.  In Central Oregon, federally protected lands moved from Extreme to High fire danger in mid-August.  Anyone planning to visit public lands is urged to check restrictions for that area before heading out.

More than 1,300 personnel are assigned to a dozen large fires still burning in Oregon.  Four of those blazes are considered high priority and are all at least 50% contained.  The largest is the Battle Mountain Complex, west of Ukiah.  At last report, that was was just over 183,000 acres and 95% contained.
