National Slaughter Cattle Review Reported Light Demand Last Week

Let's take a look at the latest for the livestock markets from the USDA’s Livestock, Grain and Poultry office in Moses Lake, WA.  The USDA’s Greg Sanders recapped last week’s National Slaughter Cattle Review.

"On Thursday, negotiated cash trading was mostly inactive, with light demand in all major feeding regions," Sanders said.  "The latest established market in the Texas Panhandle was last week, with live purchases from $258 to $260. In Nebraska last week, dress purchases were from $405 to $408, mostly at $408. When it comes to the Box Beef Cutout Values, Choice Yield Grade 1-3, 6-900 lb carcass was down $2.62 at $396.32. Select Yield Grade 1-3, 6-900 lb carcass was down $3.40 at $374.74."
