The fifth round of NAFTA renegotiations wrapped up last week and will now take a break through the holidays with the next meeting in late January in Montreal.

U.S. Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer has been very frustrated with the process so far.

“We have seen no indication that our partners are willing to make any changes that will results in a re-balancing and a reduction in these huge trade deficits.”

Lighthizer has continued stating that he’s concerned about progress in the negotiations.

While there are no official meetings until January, there will still be officials working on deals between the three countries in less formal settings until that point.
