Morrow County Grain Growers To Build New Unloading Facility

In an effort to handle the growing harvest in the area, Morrow County Grain Growers has broken ground on an expansion project at its grain elevator and shipping terminal near Boardman.  The $2.5 million project calls for a new rail unloading facility at the terminal.  That will allow grain to be transferred onto river barges and shipped around the world.

MCGG General Manager Kevin Gray, told the East Oregonian the project will help relieve rail congestion down the Columbia River Gorge.  He added the project will boost capacity at the elevator by 600,000 bushels and hire up to five new employees after construction is finished in February.
