During the month of June, Coulee Flats Dairy offered shoppers an opportunity to help kids at Mesa Elementary by donating $1 from every gallon purchased to the school.

On Tuesday, the company gave the school a check for $3,256 which included the $1 from nearly 2,500 gallons sold with the rest from cash donations made at JC’s Mesa Grocery.

Coulee Flats Dairy owner Case VanderMeulen says he loves to help his community because, “It gives back to me in so many ways and I want to give back to the people who make it such a great place to live.”

Mesa Elementary plans to use the money to build a new fence around the playfield with anything leftover helping take care of technology needs at the school.
