Merker Set To Be Honored At Blueberry Convention
The 2025 Blueberry Convention will take place October 8th-10th in Seattle. The North American Blueberry Council announced this week it will recognize and learn from the industry’s female changemakers. That includes honoring Lorrie Merker with the first-ever Women in Blueberries: Elizabeth White Award!
The Council noted Merker, former vice president for MBG Marketing, which covers growers in eight states as well as British Columbia, has devoted more than four decades to the growth and integrity of the blueberry industry. Throughout her career, Merker empowered new voices at MBG and guided emerging leaders, particularly women, in the agricultural and cooperative spaces.
In addition to celebrating Merker, The Blueverry Convention will have a variety of education sessions, including “Breaking Barriers - Women Leaders in the Blueberry Industry”.
