Stripe Rust continues to spread through the Northwest.

Researchers from Washington State University checked wheat fields last week and found stripe rust in Whitman, Garfield, Walla Walla, Columbia and Umatilla Counties.

95 percent of susceptible varieties were found to have stripe rust in collection.

Dr. Xianming Chen with WSU says the weather is favorable for stripe rust and that growers who see rust on five percent or higher of their fields should spray fungicide again.
