The leaders of the North American countries signed the USMCA (U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement) Friday at the G-20 Summit in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

“The USMCA is the largest, most significant, modern and balanced trade agreement in history," said President Trump.

"The agreement expresses the shared will by our three nations to work together towards the well-being and prosperity of each one of our societies"  said former Mexican president Enrique Peña Nieto, via a translator.

"And the benefits of trade must be broadly and fairly shared,” said Canadian Prime Minster Just Trudeau  “That's what modernizing NAFTA achieves. And that is why it was always so important to get this new agreement done right.”

Friday’s signing event was the latest step in advancing this initiative into implementation.  Legislative bodies from all three nations must still ratify the deal before it can take effect.
