Chavez-DeRemer Advocates For Data Centers
Former Oregon Congresswoman and former Labor Secretary Lori Chavez-DeRemer is speaking out for the first time in her new role as an advocate for data centers.
"It’s a great fit for me," she noted. "I’m supported by the President in working from the outside, in the private sector, to continue the mission.
That mission, she said, is to increase jobs and grow the economy; which she believes data centers will do. But Chavez-DeRemer said developers must listen to local concerns.
"And local communities are correct in saying, ‘Wait a minute; here’s what we want. And can you provide for that and still have success on the build-out of these data centers,’ in order to really be the support for artificial intelligence," she said.
Chavez-DeRemer is now a senior advisor for the public affairs firm “Think Big. She faced a series of misconduct allegations while at the Labor Department, but says resigning earlier this year was her decision.
