Rural Oregon communities are getting a significant boost — 97 million dollars spread across 136 projects to help recruit doctors, expand telehealth, and support maternal and behavioral health services.

Oregon Republican Congressman Cliff Bentz said changes to Medicaid will impact fewer Oregonians than Democrats claim.

Rural health providers in Oregon will benefit this year from a $197 million federal grant. Clare Pierce-Wrobel, with the Oregon Health Authority, said the first phase of awards will go to what she calls “shovel-ready” projects.
