Despite a recent increase in oil prices, diesel prices have held steady over the past couple of weeks.  Patrick DeHaan with GasBuddy.com says when oil prices increase in late June, just a head of the 4th of July holiday, gas prices were quick to follow.  However, diesel prices showed very little movement.  He told the Washington Ag Network you can attribute that to weak demand.

“Quite a bit slower to react than gas prices.  And diesel’s peak season is in the winter time as well.  So, with lower demand for diesel right now, that might be helping limit quick reaction of prices.”

According to figures, the average price for a gallon of diesel held steady across the entire northwest, at $2.65 in Oregon, $2.82 in Washington, and $2.44 nationally.

As far as local diesel prices are concerned:

  • $2.53 a gallon in Pasco
  • $2.55 a gallon in Pendleton
  • $2.67 a gallon in Walla Walla
  • $2.77 a gallon in Quincy
  • $2.72 a gallon in Wenatchee
  • $2.59 a gallon in Yakima
  • $2.64 a gallon in Moses Lake
