Governor Jay Inslee attended the National Governor’s Association Winter Meeting in D.C. this past weekend and said he was greatly concerned about trade implications under the Trump Administration.

“This Republican Governor said, ‘Hey, we’d appreciate it if you don’t start a trade war because the first thing they’ll shoot is our agricultural exports. These other countries that we export to will slap tariffs on our ag exports.'”

Inslee came away unimpressed with President Trump’s response who said, according to Inslee, “I’m the master of trade, don’t worry about it.”

Inslee met with the members of the dairy industry to discuss export challenges and opportunities while in D.C.
