Hot, Dry Weather Bad For Firefighters, Good For Farmers
After a weekend of extreme heat across the Inland Northwest, temperatures have moderated a bit. Dennis Hull with the National Weather Service said the temperatures should stay close to normal over the next couple of weeks, but the humidity will remain low, with little chance of rain. H said while this dry weather is bad news for regional firefighters, its good news for Northwest farmers.
“You really can’t get much better than this for winter wheat harvest. You know, the kernels are coming off the heads, in really fine shape, no rain damage no sprouting or that sort of thing. And then the hay of course, good curing conditions there, so you have good coloring.”
Hull said winds should die down Wednesday evening, and remain light through Monday.
