Grain & Feed Names New Leader Of Government & Legislative Affairs

The National Grain and Feed Association has named Capitol Hill veteran Evan Dean as its new vice president of government and legislative affairs.  Dean, who most recently served as legislative director for Nebraska Congressman, Republican Mike Flood, will lead the Association's federal lobbying efforts on issues important to grain growers as well as agribusiness.

His background includes work on agriculture, trade, transportation, renewable fuels, and farm research.

Dean Will Strengthen Our Advocacy Efforts

“Evan Dean brings valuable Capitol Hill experience and a strong understanding of the policy issues that matter most to NGFA members,” said NGFA President and CEO Mike Seyfert. “Having represented a district where our industry has a significant economic impact, Evan understands firsthand the important role grain and feed businesses play in local economies and throughout the agricultural supply chain. His work on agriculture, trade, renewable fuels, and appropriations issues, combined with his ability to build relationships across government and industry, will strengthen NGFA’s advocacy efforts as we continue advancing policies that support the grain, feed, and processing industry.” 

Prior to serving as legislative director, Dean was a legislative assistant for Flood, where he oversaw agriculture, trade, appropriations, energy, telecommunications, and natural resources policy. During his tenure, he helped advance sustainable aviation fuel initiatives, secured federal support for agricultural research priorities, and engaged extensively with agricultural stakeholders across Nebraska.  A critical issue for NGFA’s members, Dean has also worked to advance local transportation priorities, improve access, and reduce barriers to moving goods across the county.
