For today’s future of Farming, we highlight Washington State University Tri-Cities first national Newman Civic Fellow recipient Connor Eck.  The senior, originally from Del Mar California, says he’s currently working on improving water usage in the wine industry.

"So I’m interested in being in the desert up here to figure out how people are doing it up here.  It’s really going to be a cool experience to do that professionally and hopefully after I graduate I can continue working with water conservation in wineries and vineyard.”

Eck noted he’s ultimate goal is to find a way to limit the amount of water used in the farming process, while ensuring a quality product.

“Well, my goal is to be a wine maker and currently I’m the winemaker for the student wine making project here at WSU, the Blended Wineries, so that’s a project I’m really in to.”
