The Farm Bill Is Too Important To Allow More Delays

Momentum for a new Farm Bill hit a snag earlier this month in the Senate.  American Farm Bureau Federation President Zippy Duvall says the legislation’s failure at the committee level was a tough blow, but farm country is persistent.

“Farmers and ranchers are facing years of losses," Duvall noted.  "They need the certainty of a strong, bi-partisan Farm Bill.  An overwhelming majority of Americans recognize that food security is national security. And, most of them say they would be more likely to support a member of Congress who votes to reauthorize the Farm Bill.  We appreciate the efforts of the senators who supported the bill, and we urge lawmakers to return to the table, work together, and advance the Farm Bill.” 

Duvall added the Farm Bill is too important to allow additional delays.
