The Make America Healthy Again, or MAHA, movement is influencing how Americans think about food and agriculture.  Recent research from the American Farm Bureau Federation finds seven in ten Americans are concerned about pesticide use in farming, while many consumers are also questioning how food is grown and processed.

Agriculture groups say those concerns create an opportunity for farmers and ranchers to engage directly with consumers, particularly through trusted personal connections.

AFBF added 41% of Americans get information about food and farming from friends and family.  Experts say conversations should start by listening, finding common ground on issues like health and affordability, and providing science-based information about farming practices.  With food costs also a major concern, the message is that safe, nutritious and affordable food don't have to be competing priorities.
