According to AAA, the National average was unchanged in the past week, holding steady at $2.35 a gallon, Washington’s dipped one cents to $2.72 a gallon, while Oregon’s rate for diesel was unchanged at $2.55 a gallon.

Patrick DeHaan with Gasbuddy.com says we’re now entering one of the few times of the year where we see a seasonal impact on the price we pay at the pump.

He says Northwest diesel prices will actually be greatly impacted by those living in the Northeastern U.S.

[PATRICK DEHAAN – 1]

“Diesel demand doesn’t see a whole lot of season swings, except for those harvest times and in the spring and when those northerners are beginning to fill their heating oil tanks.  That can put a toll on demand supply and demand for those heavier fuels.”

DeHaan added while there was concern that OPEC planned to cut oil production this fall, he says much of that fear has vanished, especially after oil consumption numbers continue to drop.

Here are some of the lowest diesel prices we could find across the Inland Northwest:

  • $2.69 a gallon in Wenatchee
  • $2.57 a gallon in Walla Walla
  • $2.99 a gallon in Pasco
  • $2.69 a gallon in Yakima
  • $2.59 a gallon in Quincy
  • $2.72 a gallon in Moses Lake
