Diesel prices continue to slowly climb higher.  The National average for a gallon increased two cents in the past week to $2.35, while Washington’s increase seven cents to $2.66, and Oregon’s increased five cents.  Marie Dodds with AAA says diesel prices have increased steadily for the last 14 weeks.

“The average price for a gallon of diesel is quite a bit lower than it was a year ago at this time.  In fact in most markets, folks are saving 50 cents a gallon or more”

Will last week’s oil train derailment outside along the Columbia River west of Portland impact our price at the pump?

“It’s a horrible, horrible situation what happened no doubt about that but will it impact gas and diesel prices in any significant fashion, probably not.”

Here are some of the lowest diesel prices across the Inland Northwest:

  • $2.49 a gallon in Pasco
  • $2.42 a gallon in Yakima
  • $2.34 gallon in Wenatchee
  • $2.65 a gallon in Quincy
  • $2.57 a gallon in Walla Walla
  • $2.57 a gallon in Moses Lake
