Dairy producers in Washington's Whatcom, Skagit, and Snohomish counties, should mark their calendars for August 21st.  That’s when the NW Dairy Nutrient Management Field Day takes place at Coldstream Farms, located at 2304 Valley Hwy, Deming, WA.

According to the Washington State Dairy Federation the event highlights will include a dairy tour showcasing innovative practices and technologies, storage structure management opportunities, seasonal considerations with cover crops, extending your land base with manure nutrients using a silage corn rotation on potato fields, soil-nutrient-water interactions, controlled drainage and sub irrigation implications and soil moisture sensor information.

Click Here to register. The first 50 producers that arrive will receive a voucher for a free soil test (western WA complete profile) at Soiltest Farm Consultants.  Those in attendance can also enter to win a raffle for cover crop seed from CHS for a 50 acre field.  And lunch will be provided.

The WSDF says next week's event is a valuable opportunity for Northwest dairy producers to gain insights from local supportive resources at the Washington State Department of Agriculture, NRCS, and NW WSU Extension Center.
