Cummins has officially moved its Columbia Basin Service Center from Pendleton to Pasco.  The Company held a grand opening of the new 16,000 square foot facility Thursday morning.  Sandra Ihly, General Manager for the Tri-Cities and Yakima locations says the move was to offer improved communication and contact with a lion share of their customers.  She said they are already starting to see increased traffic.

“We’re doing a lot more of the business over the counter as opposed to just over the phone.  Because customers from this area would call us and we’d ship the parts, now we have the parts here.  A lot of the feedback we’re getting is it’s great that you’re here, we can come and get it.”

Ihly added the move means a handful of new jobs in the Tri Cities.  Cummins opened their Pendleton shop in 1959.
