Costco has announced their very first bee policy in which they call for limits on the use of bee-killing pesticides and encourage use of eco-friendly methods of pest or disease control.

In the policy, Costco recognized that the bee population is declining and that bees are necessary to sustain life.

Costco is also calling for any use of pesticides to be done in strict accordance with local and federal laws, as well as discouraging the use of neonicotinoids on plants where bees are the primary pollinators.

They have also invested in multi-year projects that will research improvements for bee health and sustainability.
