Cool Temperatures Finally Starting To Impact Ag

After a warm May, the Northwest was embarrassing for a hot couple of months.  But, temperatures over the past two weeks have been normal, if not below normal.  A notable change from May.  Marilyn Lohmann with the National Weather Service said this cooler weather is starting to impact the ag community.

“We did see a pretty big dip in those soil temperatures over this past weekend with that recent system.  But warmer conditions are expected after this coming weekend, with even hot and well above normal temperatures expected after the 23^rd.”

Lohmann anticipates another system will roll into the area this weekend, but the cold temperatures will not be part of it.  She said later this month, specifically June 23^rd, we’ll start to see temperature rocket up.

The first day of Summer is Thursday June 21^st.
