The House voted by unanimous consent Wednesday to move House Resolution 2 to Conference.  The move puts the 2018 Farm Bill one step closer to the finish line.  While there’s still a lot of work that has to be done, House Ag Committee Chairman Mike Conaway is feeling confident.  What remains is the Senate’s vote to go to conference, and the announcement of the conference members.

“We’ll get after that hard work of putting these two bills together and hammer through the compromises that will need to be done…before September 30th so we can get this to the President’s desk and move forward,” Conaway said.

When asked if the Conference Committee will meet before the August recess, Conaway would not speculate.  He emphasized at this point, they are waiting on the Senate’s vote.
