A $14 million class action lawsuit has been filed against Lamb Weston, alleging the company did not provide meal or rest breaks.  Lamb Weston, which produces frozen potatoes and other foods, is accused of failing to provide 10-minute breaks, and half-hour lunches to its Washington workers.  The suit, which was recently moved to Eastern Washington U.S. District Court, claims since these actions translated into workers clocking more than 40 hours a week, they should have been paid overtime.  The Eagle-Idaho based company not only denies the claims in the suit, but also argues that the case does not meet class action standards.  During the time of the alleged infractions, Lamb Weston employed over 4,500 hourly workers in Washington.

In late 2024, Lamb Weston closed its French fry plant in Connell, but continues to operate several pants around the Tri-Cities area.
