The USDA’s 2017 Census of Agriculture will be closing their signup window for interested producers Friday, June 30th.

The census, which comes out every five years, provides a lot of benefits for the industry, particularly new producers according to NASS’ Lance Honig.

“It helps us find those new trends in agriculture. Where are these crops moving into? Sometimes it’s new crops, sometimes it’s just crops expanding into new areas.”

You’ll be able to fill out the census through the mail and online.

You can sign up at the Census of Agriculture website by clicking on the Make Sure You Are Counted button.
