Washington growers will be well represented by the U.S. Wheat Associates in the year ahead.  Washington Grain Commissioner, and Almira-area grower, Mike Carstensen, assumed his role as Vice Chairman of the organization last week.

His term started June 25th, following installation.

In his role as Vice Chairman, Carstensen will work with U.S. Wheat Associates to further their mission to, “develop, maintain, and expand international markets to enhance wheat’s profitability for U.S. wheat producers and its value for their customers.”

Carstensen, and all of the board members, were elected at the January winter board meeting in Washington, D.C.
