The U.S. Capitol Christmas Tree has made its way from Oregon to Washington D.C.

"The United States Forest Service and the Willamette National Forest for graciously providing this stunning 80-foot Noble Fir,” said Acting Architect of the Capitol Christine Merdon.  “This is our very first Noble Fir."

The tree traveled in recent days to the Nation's Capitol, doing the reverse route of the historic Oregon Trail, with stops in cities, such as St. Louis.  That was 3,000 miles, 17 days and 31 stops.  Making it just in time for the Thanksgiving Day celebration last week.

The Capitol Christmas Tree will be decorated this week for the annual lighting ceremony scheduled for December 5th.
