According to the Bureau of Land Management, a wild horse specialist rescued a foal trapped in the mud, while checking water sources last week, in southern Oregon.  Blair Street said she was on the far east side of the Beaty Butte Herd Management Area, east of Lakeview, when she says a wild mare kept running to her truck then to a nearby ridge.
She drove over the ridge and found a young horse stuck in the mud near a dugout water tank.  Street said the horse did not resist as she tied a rope around its rear.  After 30 minutes, she got the animal to solid ground, checked it for injuries and waited for it to get up.  Eventually, it ran off to rejoin its mother, who was waiting on the ridge the whole time.
