After a rough winter, and several wild storms this spring, your property may be in need of some repairs.  But, before sign up to have work done, make sure you stay on your toes.  This time of year, it’s very common to see door-to-door sales men offering repair services.  Kirstin Davis with the local BBB told the Washington Ag Network door-to-door sellers may be perfectly reputable business, but you need to ask the right questions.

“You know, they need to conduct themselves in a professional way.  If you ask them for identification they should have photo ID and business cards and something official.”

Davis added if your city or county requires additional permits or paperwork, they should be able to provide that as well.  Davis said don’t feel pressured into making a hasty decision.

“When they start to get aggressive, or they are kind of getting fear based and putting pressure on you, to make that deal right now, it’s only good while they are here, that kind of thing or requiring up front payment that is definite red flag.”

And don’t forget, anytime a deal sounds too good to be true, it most likely is.  Davis says if you don’t feel comfortable doing business with the door-to-door seller, ask them to leave, and contact the BBB.
