The Walla Walla Valley Wine Alliance’s Barrel Full of Money broke another record by raising $34,500 this holiday season with the help of the community and more than 60 area wineries.

The money will all go to the Blue Mountain Action Council Food Bank to help feed the less fortunate in the Walla Walla area.

BMAC Food Bank Director Jeff Mathias says the increase of 28 percent from last year is incredible and that it will allow them to provide more than 191,600 meals to neighbors in need.

COO of the Walla Walla Valley Wine Alliance Ashley Riggs said she’s delighted to see more businesses jumping on board with their efforts every year and that, “Barrel Full of Money was designed for the community to band together to assist those in need.”
