Bar-S Recalling Hot Dog Products
More than 372,000 pounds of hot dogs and corn dogs made earlier this month are being recalled. THE USDA said Oklahoma-based Bar-S Foods is recalling five chicken and pork products that could potentially be contaminated with listeria. Bar-S hasn’t received test results but is recalling the items due to recurring listeria issues at the company.
The recalled items include Bar-S bun-length and classic franks made with chicken and pork, Bar-S classic corn dogs and Signature Pick 5 corn dogs.
They were made between July 10th and 13th.
The products were sold at include Wal-Mart, Sam’s Club, Kroger, IGA, Safeway, Fred Meyer, Piggly Wiggly, Lowe’s, Food Lion, Ingles and many more. Visit Bar-S' Website for a complete list of stores, where the products were sold.
No illness have been connected to these products.
Listeria is a food poisoning that primarily affects older adults, pregnant women newborns and adults with weakened immune systems. Infections during pregnancy can lead to miscarriage, stillbirth, premature delivery, or life-threatening infection of the newborn, according to the CDC. In others,symptoms can include headache, stiff neck, confusion, loss of balance, and convulsions in addition to fever and muscle aches.
