ARC and PLC Deadline Coming August 1st

The Farm Service Agency is reminding farmers that the deadline to sign up for the Agriculture Risk Coverage, or ARC, and the Price Loss Coverage, or PLC programs is Monday, August 1^st.

Executive Director of the Washington State FSA Judy Olson said this is a critical deadline.

“For the 2016 crop year these programs might trigger financial benefits to the producers if market forces drop.”

The risk management programs are designed to help those producers who have commodities that fall below expected values thus helping farmers reduce loss.

Olson says the process this year should be much simpler than in recent years with possibly just needing little more than a signing up.
