Labor & Industry Reminding Ag Workers To Use Caution In Smoky Conditions

Farm workers exposed to wildfire smoke should tell their supervisor if they become sick and watch for worsening symptoms.  Washington State Labor and Industries says when fine particle numbers get too high, PM2.5 levels exceed 250 micrograms per cubic meter, employers must provide a clean-air location for workers with severe symptoms.

The Department said workers who believe smoke exposure has affected their health should seek medical evaluation and tell their provider they were exposed to wildfire smoke on the job.
