Ag Weather Experts Visiting from Kazakhstan
The USDA is hosting a delegation of agricultural and weather experts, the ninth largest nation in the world, and agriculture powerhouse particularly in wheat.
USDA Meteorologist Brad Rippey said they have been sharing information in the hopes of improving climate data impacting agriculture.
“They’re just amazed by how much data we’re able to assimilate into our analyses. The weather data, the satellite-sense data and just manage to layer everything all together along with crop calendars and crop modeling. Obviously the U.S. technology tends to run a little bit ahead of some of the other countries and Kazakhstan has only been an independent country for a short period of time.”
Previously Kazakhstan depended on Russia for their ag weather data.
