Washington State University researchers have released their 2017 version of the grape pest management guide to help grape growers with the management strategies.

WSU’s Gwen Hoheisel said, “We have a new list of fungicide rotations. You have an update on some of the actual chemistries and when to apply them best and we also have some new information on some pests that have creeped up to be occasional pests.”

This guide can be particularly helpful to grape growers who might be new to the industry to understand what they need to know and do when fighting pests.

Hoheisel stressed that their guide is not designed to create a pest management program exclusively, but rather be one part of a larger conversation.

“What pesticides are available that we’ve tested at WSU? How do we recommend them and how do we recommend them in rotation with other chemicals? You should use it as a reference for when you’re developing your pest management program.”

You can find the guide at wine.wsu.edu.
