The 2nd annual Fabreo Expo gets underway at TRAC in Pasco Wednesday.  This year, the two day event will focus more on those in the agriculture trade, and those that look to have an international presence.  TRIDEC’s Gary White told the Washington Ag Network much of the attention this year is focused on accessing the fastest growing market, via Hong Kong.

“The thing is China especially is a huge opportunity.  Lamb Weston is doing a lot there now, they’ve got a whole potato growing facility, they’ve got a food processing facility.  American companies are getting into it, and a lot of the challenge is how does one get into it, especially if you’re a smaller company.”

White adds all ag based businesses across the Inland Northwest must go on the offense when it comes to marketing internationally.

“95% of the world’s markets are outside the United States.  We’re not as aggressive as a nation as we should be when it comes to exporting because for the most part our domestic market has been pretty strong.  But, obviously our domestic market is being penetrated by companies over seas.”
