YVC Vintners Win Wine Press NW Awards
The teaching winery at Yakima Valley Community College won some prestigious awards from Wine Press Northwest.
During the magazine’s Best of the Best judging, Yakima Valley Vintners’ 2013 Dean’s List Tempranillo received a double platinum while the 2013 Primitivo was awarded a platinum.
Wines from Yakima Valley Vintners, the name of the teaching winery for the school, have won 80 awards in total.
Ag Department Chair Trent Ball said the industry will be stronger for the efforts put in by his students and that, “It is exciting to see the students garner such prestigious acknowledgment of the skills they gain while completing our Vineyard and Winery Technology degrees and certificates.”
All wines produced by Yakima Valley Vintners are created by students in the Vineyard and Winery Technology program.
