The Washington State Tree Fruit Association and G.S. Long Company have produced a tractor safety training video for orchard workers.  The 30-minute video is based on a training curriculum approved by the Washington State Department of Labor & Industries, covering tractor operation basics, rollover protective structures, the hydraulic system, the power take-off system, hitching and towing, troubleshooting when something goes wrong, and safety under risky situations.  The videos are available in both English and Spanish.  Click here to watch the video in English and click here to watch the video in Spanish.

In addition, USB drives with these videos are available for $50, which includes printable training materials with the Tractor Skills and Safety Training Curriculum and Tractor Safety Quick Tips (English and Spanish).  People interested in this training tool can click here to order a USB drive.

This video is not intended to be a complete safety training program.   The control and operation of each tractor is unique, and operators must receive specific training on the equipment they will use and the hazards they may encounter in their workplace.
