Monday was July 1st, which translated into several new law on the books in Washington.  The new Winery General Permit, the paperwork for discharges coming from Wineries, is now effective.  The Department of Ecology issues the Permit on May 17th 2018, but delayed the effective day applying permittees extra time to prepare for the changes.

DOE also delayed the effective day to coincide with a recent revised Permit Fee Rule.  Wineries that meet the applicability requirements outlined in Special Condition S1 of of the Winery General Permit have until September 30th, 90 days, to apply for permit coverage.

You can apply by using DOE’s online permit portal.  If you have any questions, contact Ecology.
