While this is the short legislative session in Olympia, Washington Wheat growers hope to address several key topics with lawmakers.  Michelle Hennings, Executive Director of the Washington Association Wheat Growers told the Washington Ag Network they will push hard to protect the Snake River Dams, to ensure growers can get their commodities to the world market affordably.

“We’re also going to be talking about our transportation and infrastructure, how important that it, and then on the national side we’re going to be battling farm bill.”

Hennings added they will also work to make the voices of growers know on Governor Jay Inslee’s proposed Carbon Tax.
