The leaders of the U.S., Mexico and Canada are scheduled to sign the USMCA at the G-20 Summit in Buenos Aires Friday.  What are some of the anticipated long-term impacts of this update to NAFTA?  USDA Undersecretary Ted McKinney says one of the most immediate changes comes with the end to Canada's class seven dairy classification.

"I think that got fixed and that gives modest additional access by our dairy markets to Canada, but more importantly it set the rules I think for the future so that those kind of things are kept in check."

McKinney noted USMCA will also mean additional opportunities for American wheat growers.

"But I think the real bonus is the long term on the biosciences and the sanitary, phytosanitary chapters,” McKinney added.
