The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife is seeking nominations for its Waterfowl Advisory Group.  The group advises the department on issues including waterfowl hunting regulations, access, and wetland enhancement projects.

WDFW Director Kelly Susewind is expected to appoint four to six new members, each serving a three-year term beginning September 1st.

“We’re looking for new advisory group members with diverse connections to waterfowl conservation and management to serve as a conduit between WDFW and the public,” said Kyle Spragens, WDFW waterfowl section manager. “This group provides important input on waterfowl hunting regulations, access, and the state’s Migratory Bird Permit-funded wetland enhancement projects.”

Those interested in serving can complete the application available on the WWAG Webpage and submit it via e-mail  or postal mail (Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife ATTN: Kyle Spragens, P.O. Box 43141, Olympia, WA, 98504).  Applications are due by 5 p.m. August 28th.

“We carefully consider recommendations from our advisory groups and value the experience that all of our members bring to the table,” said Anis Aoude, WDFW game division manager. “We are looking for advisory group members that represent Washingtonians’ diverse interests about statewide waterfowl management.”

The group, first convened in 2003, meets at least once a year; .members may be reimbursed for travel expenses.
