
WDFW To Host Hunting Event In North Central Washington In September
National Hunting and Fishing Day will take place next month and to mark the occasion, the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife is inviting young people and families Wenatchee.
The Saturday, September 13th event will take place at the North Central Washington Gun Club. The free event will have morning and afternoon sessions where youth, accompanied by an adult, can participate in hands-on activities to learn about hunting, fishing, and conservation. Activities include:
- Rod-and-reel casting practice
- Archery practice
- 20-gauge shotgun shooting
- Air rifle shooting
- Educational displays and conversation partner booths
Certified hunter education instructors, master hunters, and shooting range safety officers will be on site to provide training, guidance, and promote the importance of hunter safety and to ensure a safe environment.
WDFW: September's Event Is Family Friendly
There will be a morning session, which runs from 10 a.m. to noon, and then an afternoon session, which runs from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
Those interested in participating need to pre-register to ensure there are enough materials for everyone.
The National Hunting and Fishing Day celebration also includes:
- Free hot dogs and chips
- Reusable drawstring safety gear bags for youth participants
- Door prize drawings and giveaways donated by local and national businesses
