With temperatures well above 100 degrees to start July, how are water levels across the Inland Northwest?  Scott Pattee with NRCS told the Washington Ag Network statewide data shows water levels are great for early July.

“Most all streams are running normal, and the ones that are dropping are starting to drop out, it’s normal for them to drop out once we get to July because the snow is all gone.  So, I think we’re really very normal on streamflow.”

Pattee noted that reservoir levels are in very good shape thanks to a wet cool spring.  And he said it’s important to keep conservation top of mind during the dog days of summer.

“Don’t do unnecessary watering just become of the extreme temperatures use the tools that are at hand as far as checking soil moisture conditions and things like that."
